Built for how music actually gets made.
One workflow. Start by humming or importing MIDI, refine every phrase with Replace, keep every edit in Ledger, shape the whole song with Mentor, hear it sung by the virtual singer, then export MIDI back to your own DAW.
In and Out: Start by humming, finish in your own DAW
Mouta handles the melody. How you start is up to you, and so is where you take it next.
Hum a melody or import an existing MIDI file to start writing. When you're done, export MIDI and take it back to GarageBand, FL Studio, Logic or whichever DAW you use to arrange and record.
How it works
- Hum a melody, or import a MIDI file
- Write and refine it in Mouta
- Export MIDI and arrange or record in your own DAW
Replace: Not feeling a phrase? Swap it.
Stop getting stuck on a phrase that doesn't feel right. Refining a melody gets simple.
Select any phrase and Replace offers candidates that follow your Skill. Audition them, swap one in, and every swap is logged to Ledger.
How it works
- Select any melodic section in the DAW Editor
- Multiple candidates appear. Play each one back
- Pick one. The swap is logged to Ledger right away.
Ledger: A record of every edit
A creation record you can actually show. Every track comes with its own history.
Ledger is Mouta's creative history. Every note edit and every Replace swap is timestamped and can be replayed, and it exports as a .llg file with a report that breaks down human contribution.
What's inside a .llg
- Total event count and full timeline
- Every entry is written in order, with a timestamp
- Attach the .llg whenever you need to show how a track was made
Mentor: Shape the whole song
Design the song's structure, check every phrase and sharpen the hook, from first idea to a track you can release.
Mentor brings together tools like Struct for planning sections and Hook Mentor for phrase-by-phrase scoring, to help you turn melodic ideas into finished songs.
How it works
- Plan sections and phrases with Struct
- Use Hook Mentor to check each phrase and sharpen the hook
- Check how the sections work as a whole
Virtual Singer: Hear it sung as soon as it's written.
No singer, no recording session. Hear right away whether your melody and lyrics work together.
The virtual singer is an a cappella voice for demo listening: it sings your melody and lyrics so you can check how well they fit before you finalize. It supports Chinese, English, Japanese and Korean, and you can export the vocal on its own as a WAV.
How it works
- Paste your lyrics into the lyrics window
- Japanese lyrics with kanji are converted to kana first, and written in only after you confirm
- Listen to the a cappella take, then export the vocal WAV when you're happy
Japanese kanji readings are guessed automatically. Please check them before applying.
