Question 1

What is a token?

Accepted Answer

Tokens are your shared monthly creation budget: accepting an AI suggestion and pulling inspiration both draw from it. Replace, AI generation and melody library suggestions each have their own monthly cap on top of that.

Question 2

What happens when I run out of tokens? Do unused ones roll over?

Accepted Answer

You will see an upgrade prompt, and everything else keeps working. Paid plans reset every month and unused tokens do not roll over. The free trial’s 130 tokens are one-time.

Question 3

How are distribution royalties split?

Accepted Answer

For every US$100 a DSP pays out: our distributor first deducts a fee based on the platform category: currently 0% (direct licensing deals), 5% (standard streaming platforms) or 20% (UGC platforms such as YouTube Content ID). Mouta then keeps 10% of what remains, and the rest is yours: US$90, US$85.50 or US$72. There's no fixed fee for distribution; it's included in your subscription (optional paid add-ons you choose to buy are separate). Any tax we are required by law to withhold, and remittance fees, are deducted separately. The platforms in each category and the current rates are posted on the platform, and if the distributor changes a rate, it applies from the distributor's effective date; we'll update the notice and email you within 14 days of learning of it, and you can take the track down if you disagree (see Article 3.3 of the Distribution Service Agreement).

Question 4

What happens to my released tracks if I stop subscribing?

Accepted Answer

They stay live and keep earning royalties for up to 1 year. That year is counted cumulatively for each track: resuming your subscription pauses the count, and if you stop again it continues from the days already used rather than starting a new year. We email you when your subscription ends and 30 days before the year runs out. If a track has earned US$10 or more in net royalties over the previous 12 months when the year ends, we may keep it live and keep paying you (we'll email you if we do); after that, if the track earns less than US$10 in net royalties over any 12 consecutive months, we may take it down with 30 days' email notice; you can ask us to take it down at any time.

Question 5

What happens when I hit my export limit?

Accepted Answer

You'll see an upgrade prompt right at that moment. Your projects and Ledger stay in your account. Nothing disappears because you hit the limit. Exports of files and .llg records for tracks released through Mouta don't count toward the limit. For what happens to your data after account deletion, see Section 8 of the Privacy Policy.

Question 6

Can I switch plans?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Upgrade or downgrade at the start of any billing cycle. No lock-in. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period, and the price difference is not refunded or credited. Founding Members: changing plans ends your price lock.

Question 7

What does the Pro price lock mean?

Accepted Answer

As long as your Founding Member subscription stays active, you renew at US$200/yr regardless of future Pro price changes. The lock ends if your subscription lapses or isn't renewed, or if you change plans. It covers the plan's existing features; add-on features introduced later may be priced separately.

Question 8

Does the free trial include Ledger?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Cloud LLG is available on all plans, including the free trial. Local .llg export is included during the free trial and generally requires Pro or above after that, but .llg records for tracks released through Mouta can always be exported, don't count toward your limit, and stay exportable for at least 30 days after the distribution agreement ends (see Section 9.6 of the Distribution Service Agreement).
