  • Comply with legal obligations

We will not use your personal information for purposes beyond those listed without your explicit consent.

Marketing communications. You may opt out of marketing messages at any time, free of charge. Every marketing message we send carries an unsubscribe link, and you may also opt out by writing to support@moutastudio.com. Opting out of marketing does not stop service-related notifications, which are necessary to operate your account.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Japan, or South Korea, we send you marketing messages only if you have given your prior consent, for example by ticking the box offered at registration. You may withdraw that consent at any time in the same ways.

4. AI Model Training

  • We may use anonymized and aggregated creative behavior data (such as Skill usage patterns and Replace module interaction data) to improve Mouta's AI models.
  • Under the license you grant in Section 5.4 of our Terms of Service, we use content created and generated within the Service, including musical structures, AI interaction patterns, and generated outputs, to continuously improve our AI systems. Content used for this purpose is processed in aggregated or transformed form and is not individually attributed; we do not provide it to third parties in its original form or present it as your work.
  • Audio files you upload from external sources are excluded from training use without your separate consent.

This Section applies except to the extent that mandatory data protection law applicable to you provides otherwise. Where that law gives you a right to object to this processing or to withdraw consent for it, you may exercise it under Section 9, and we will stop the processing to the extent required. After you object, your content will not be used for any new training; models already trained before your objection cannot be reverted. Whether or not that law gives you such a right, you may notify us under Section 5.4 of the Terms of Service that works you create afterwards (including their generated results) are not to be used for AI model training; this does not extend to the anonymized creative-behavior data described in the first paragraph of this Section (including AI interaction patterns that have been anonymized).

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for marketing purposes.

6. Sharing Your Information

We do not share your personal information except:

  • With your consent

  • To protect rights — when necessary to protect the safety of Mouta, users, or the public
  • Service providers — with trusted vendors acting on our behalf under data processing agreements

7. Cookies

We use cookies to maintain your login session, remember preferences, and analyze usage. You may disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may limit Service functionality. We do not use cookies to track you across third-party websites. We do measure visits across our own domains — for example, moving from moutastudio.com to our registration page — so that one visit is counted once rather than twice.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, our website (moutastudio.com) sets analytics cookies only after you agree to them, and every part of the website works the same if you decline. Wherever you are located, you may change your choice at any time through the "Cookie Settings" link at the bottom of the website; if you decline, analytics stops and the analytics cookies already set are removed.

8. Data Retention

  • Personal information is retained while your account is active or as needed to provide the Service.
  • Royalty-related records (Ledger data, transaction records) are retained for a minimum of 7 years for accounting and legal compliance.
  • Upon account deletion, personal information is deleted or anonymized within 90 days, except where retention is required by law, or is necessary to perform the Distribution Service Agreement, to collect or pay royalties, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims (including records of consent and of notices given). Such information is retained only for as long as necessary and is used only for those purposes.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete
  • Delete your personal data, subject to the retention exceptions in Section 8
  • Port your data — receive it in a structured, commonly used format
  • Object to certain processing, including the AI model training described in Section 4 and the marketing described in Section 3
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent

To exercise these rights, contact us at support@moutastudio.com. We will respond to requests to query or access your data, or to obtain a copy of it, within 15 days, and to requests to correct or delete your data, or to stop or object to its processing, within 30 days. Where necessary, we may extend either period once, by the same length, and will tell you the reason in writing. Exercising these rights is free of charge, and withdrawing consent does not affect processing carried out before the withdrawal. For marketing content that has already been published, you may request that we stop using it or remove it, under Section 5.4 of our Terms of Service or, for distribution marketing materials, Article 12.2 of the Distribution Service Agreement; we will remove it from the media we control within 30 days, and use reasonable efforts to help with anything outside our control.

10. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS), encryption at rest, and access controls. All personnel with access to personal data are subject to confidentiality obligations.

No method of transmission over the internet or of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to keep your login credentials confidential.

11. International Data Transfers

Your data may be stored and processed on servers located outside your country of residence, including in the countries where the service providers listed in Section 5 operate. These include the Republic of China (Taiwan), Hong Kong, the United States, the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, and the other countries or regions where our distributors and the DSPs operate. Where you use the Distribution Service, your artist name, cover art, bio and track metadata are transferred to our appointed distributor and to the DSPs you select, which operate worldwide. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for any international data transfer in compliance with applicable law.

If you would like details of where your data is processed and the safeguards that apply, contact us at support@moutastudio.com.

12. Children's Privacy

The Service is not specifically directed to individuals under the age of 18. A person under 18 may use the Service only with the prior consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, as set out in our Terms of Service, and must be able to provide evidence of that consent on request. A parent or legal guardian may contact us at support@moutastudio.com to withdraw consent, to ask what data we hold about the minor, or to request its deletion, and we will close the account on request. We may suspend an account where we have reason to believe this requirement is not met. Our distribution service is available only to users aged 18 or over, subject to the case-by-case application process described in our Terms of Service.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notice at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
